JFK to the Hamptons

JFK is the best-placed airport for the LIRR because Jamaica station is the starting point for most Hamptons trains. The AirTrain JFK links the terminals with Jamaica station; check the AirTrain's own site for the fare. From Jamaica, the trains on the Montauk Branch serve seven stations from Westhampton east to Montauk.

By train

Take the AirTrain to Jamaica, then board a Montauk Branch train there. On the winter timetable the through trains from Jamaica toward Montauk include 8:18 AM, 11:41 AM, 6:31 PM and 8:50 PM on weekdays, and 8:15 AM, 10:27 AM and 12:14 PM on weekends; see each route page for the full list by station. The $33.00 peak and $24.50 off-peak fares quoted elsewhere on this site are from Penn Station; the fare from Jamaica is for a different zone pair, so check the MTA's TrainTime app for your trip.

By Jitney

The Hampton Jitney does not stop at the airports. The Jitney tells JFK passengers to take a taxi to its Queens Airport Connection at 190th Street and the eastbound LIE service road in Fresh Meadows, allowing 25 to 30 minutes. A taxi company named by the Jitney, Flushing 24 Hrs. Service at (718) 358-1111, quotes about $33 to JFK for up to four passengers on the westbound return.
