Getting around Hampton Bays
SCT's Route 92 stops at Montauk Highway and Ponquogue Avenue/Squiretown Road, which SCT lists as a quarter-mile walk from the LIRR station. The route runs about every 60 minutes, every day. East of Hampton Bays it serves Southampton, Bridgehampton, Sag Harbor and East Hampton. North it serves Riverhead and Greenport.
It is also where Sunrise Highway stops being a freeway. East of the Route 24 interchange the road crosses the Shinnecock Canal and continues as North Highway, a four-lane surface road better known as the Southampton Bypass.
The weekday shuttle train 92 starts at Hampton Bays at 8:26 AM and runs to Montauk, and shuttle 91 ends here at the end of a run from Amagansett, per the winter data.
