Connecticut to the Hamptons

From Connecticut, the Hamptons are across Long Island Sound: the Cross Sound Ferry runs year-round from New London to Orient Point, and from there SCT Route 92 or a car reaches the South Fork.

Fares and schedules checked October 2026.

The ferry is the direct route and the alternative to driving through New York City. The Cross Sound Ferry carries vehicles and passengers year-round, advertises vehicle fares from $37.40 for a car and driver, and offers a 40-minute passenger-only SeaJet. New London terminal parking is $15 per calendar day.

From Orient Point

  • SCT Route 92. It starts at the Orient Point ferry dock and runs to East Hampton LIRR about every 60 minutes, every day, via Greenport, Riverhead, Hampton Bays, Southampton and Sag Harbor. See Suffolk County Transit.
  • Jitney North Fork Line. It lists Orient Point among its stops, along with Greenport and Riverhead.
  • Two more ferries. Drivers can take the North Ferry ($16 one way for a car) from Greenport to Shelter Island and the South Ferry ($18) to Sag Harbor. See the Shelter Island route.
