No Hamptons town has a taxi stand on every corner, so the last mile is the part of the trip to book ahead. The operators publish a few phone numbers that are worth knowing.

This guide sticks to services the transit operators and county publish. Local car services, black-car companies and rideshare apps are outside what the operators publish, so this guide does not list them. When you plan a bus or train trip, treat the ride from the stop to the house as a separate booking.

Uber and Lyft operate in the Hamptons, but availability, wait times and prices swing with the season and with the hour. Peak summer evenings are the hardest to predict. For a first arrival, line up a booked ride or SCT On-Demand rather than counting on the app, and keep the booking number of a local service in your phone.
Which stops need a ride
