Winter travel to the Hamptons

From November to February the LIRR runs seven through trains toward Montauk Monday to Thursday and five on weekends, the Jitney runs a timetable that ends January 6, and the Block Island ferry is closed until spring.

What changes

  • Fewer weekend LIRR trains: five a day toward Montauk against seven Monday to Thursday.
  • An earlier last train home on Sunday: 7:55 PM from Montauk.
  • Jitney timetables that change in January; the winter timetable last year took effect on January 8.
  • No Block Island fast ferry until the operator posts its spring schedule.
